Your school can help to protect the environment by setting up containers for separate waste collection.
Bear the following tips in mind:
- Install clearly labelled containers for the separate collection of paper, plastic, glass and metal waste.
- Collect organic waste separately: food waste includes apple cores, or the remains of other fruits and vegetables that you eat during school breaks.
- A special container is also useful for hazardous waste such as batteries, fluorescent light tubes, leftover paints and other toxic substances or their packaging.
Discuss with the school management how this initiative can best be implemented. Ask a representative of the local authority to help you with your plans.
