The public transport system in Ukraine comprises buses, trams, trolleybuses, metro and minibus taxis. Public transport is used by all members of society, and bus connections can be found in practically all Ukrainian cities.
Many people question the efficiency of city bus networks, arguing that buses emit harmful gases into the atmosphere, slow down traffic and fail to run on schedule. However, no one can deny the fact that a bus carrying 100 people takes up less space on the road than the 50 to 80 cars required to transport the same number of people, and that the volume of emissions from a single bus is significantly smaller.
