Dairy products have been part of our daily diet for thousands of years

Milk and dairy products contain calcium, which is essential for healthy bones and teeth. Milk should always be pasteurised before use, as raw milk may contain dangerous bacteria that cause illness. Products based on milk powder are better avoided, as they lack many of the important elements found in whole milk.

Cultured milk products (yoghurts, cheeses, kefir and buttermilk) are the most beneficial for humans as they contain important microorganisms that facilitate digestion.

Try to buy local products, especially those labelled as organically produced.
