Nuts

A better choice than sweets and biscuits

Nuts contain a balance of vitamins and minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and iron. They are also rich in the complex proteins necessary for the regeneration of our body tissues. Nuts contain substances that help remove toxins from the body, and their regular consumption helps to reduce the risk of heart disease. All varieties of nuts retain their vitamins and nutritional properties for long periods of time.

Nuts are a tasty food and are recommended for anyone making the transition to a vegetarian diet. However, nuts are high in fat and calories and their consumption in pure form should be limited. Nutritionists recommend eating no more than a handful of nuts per day.
